Upgrades that sell your Mississauga Condo in 2013

Since the start of this New Year the Mississauga condo market has been gaining acceleration, which seemed evident with me featuring in few new publications that include The Globe and Mail and YourMississaugaBizz.  From my experience with the blog posts and the feedbacks, reviews I receive I have decided to start a blog to help people sell their condos. From my experience I feel that most condo buyers look for these upgrades.

Dark hardwood floors are most wanted by young buyers. The trend has now shifted to darker floors. People feel that darker colors give a rich look and status than light colored ones. Moreover dark colored floors are easy to maintain as it would not become dirty easily. So make sure to use dark colors for the floorings.

While dark floors are preferred when it comes to appliances the trend has shifted from white and black appliances to stainless steel appliances. Though stainless steel appliances have their own drawback like getting their fingerprints imprinted on them, they just look attractive in the dark kitchen. No matter how long you use they don’t look outdated and lost longer. Moreover even the finger prints can be removed by wipes.

Be neutral in choosing the colors for paints. Creativity and artistic taste varies from buyers to buyer. So sometimes maybe your creativity in colors does not resonate with the tastes of the buyer. If you feel very uncertain it is always safe to try white.

Though this may not seem that important, upgrading bathrooms is an easy way to attract buyers these days. Quality tiles with exotic shapes and colors increase the interest of your buyer. Be choosy with the sinks and you could try your innovation and creativity to make the bathrooms appear the best.

Moving on to the closet, you might feel it would be a lot more attractive to go with the custom closets, however those are costly and is hard to fit inside a condo. There are good stores like IKEA to choose the right closet. Just make sure that they are spacious, contains adequate racks to keep stuffs neat and tidy, affordable. Choose the right kind of closet be it racks, baskets, drawers so that it blends with the condo.

Here are other stuffs that you must not do.

Do not waste your time, many and energy with window covering. Taste for window coverings; like colors for paint differ from buyer to buyer. Just choose simple ones.

Do not confuse your buyer with too many colors. Maintaining consistency of colors among rooms also gives an elegant touch to the condo. Maybe you could try different styles and tradition like tiles of different shapes.

Another point to note is the carpets. Carpets and rugs have long gone outdated. They look old, dirty and kind of old fashioned. Of course few years back they were fashionable and were a status shower but trend changes easily. Better go for hardwood which is cheaper and easy to install as well.
